Born and raised in the deep San Francisco East Bay, I studied philosophy and literature at UC Berkeley and read Victorian literature at Merton College, U of Oxford. I have worked in media strategy and planning in one form or another for nearly 30 years, working in San Francisco doing media auditing and planning, then into digital in the mid-90s. I opened the NYC office for Mediasmith in 2000 but stayed in NYC when it closed—been on the East Coast ever since. My interests are figuring out when something is a puzzle or a mystery problem and then what it takes to solve it. I like B-horror films, cooking South East Asian cuisine, and English History. I love my wife and 3 cats.
